2013 saw the Warriors return to eastern soil for their second chance to take home the Robert Hunter Cup at Victoria Park in Melbourne. The first quarter was a ferocious affair with the Warriors coming out hard, kicking goal after goal to secure a handy lead early on. The second quarter was much of the same with the Eastside Kings finding it hard to capitalise on inside 50 opportunities until minutes before the half time siren when Kings kicked their first goal.
The second half started with the Warriors in front with a 5 goal lead as the Kings slowly clawed back at the scoreboard and started to gain momentum.
The final term saw the Warriors let another win slip through their fingers in the dying moments to see the Kings comeback to win their second Robert Hunter Cup in what was another nail biting clash between the east and west.
